In the thin air and bright sun of the high mountain communities most
women and girls drape a towel or length of cloth over their heads to
shade their faces. This same towel can also be used as a cushion to
carry heavy loads on their heads. Both shy and curious at the approach
of a camera, this young girl tries to hide her face and peek out at the
same time.
