The Jagua women of the Peruvian Amazon wear red sarong-style skirts and an open vest-like garment made of red dyed tree fibers that they drape over their shoulders. The bands on their arms and ankles are made from the same fibers.
The river is the only means of transportation. People paddle dugout canoes, to carry jungle fruits, produce and fish to and from their villages.
