The master of ceremonies stand watch with other village elders making sure that an errant flame or drunken reveler doesn't burn down the temple. After the torch-bearers make a few passes through the temple grounds chanting and screaming, they will set fire to the giant bamboo torches and exorcise the evil spirits. |
