Most of the soil found in the rainforest is thin and poor. The soil deposits on the margins of the river offer the only opportunity to grow anything with success. Bernardo has integrated his farm into a few acres of secondary forest that produces a stunning variety of produce including coconuts, cacao, sugar cane, coffee, yucca, peppers, limes, guava and cilantro. |
