Title:
Ngobe Indigenous People, Zapote, Chiriqui, Panama.
Caption:
After boiling the salt water for an entire day, a Ngobe woman scrapes salt out of the barrels with gourd and stick scoops and
piling it onto racks to dry.
This old Ngobe tradition dates back generations. The Ngobe are among the
poorest indigenous people in Panama and often cannot afford to purchase
even the most basic products.
